December

Well good morning ladies and gents! Today is the first day of December! Can you believe we have made through another year!  So with this new month also comes a new beginning! I know, I know you are saying~ She always says this! BUT it is so TRUE! The sooner you begin to believe that each day is a new beginning, and each month is a new beginning, the sooner you will believe in yourself and your ability to win over the "INJUSTICE of WEIGHT LOSS!  I know, what you are thinking that is insanity talking and many believe in that old saying " Keeping doing the same thing and keep getting the same results" WELL, I truly believe if you are really to keep trying that you will eventually find the right key to keep you on track!

SO, I am firm believer in the "Low Carb" and high fat-protein process.  It is truly amazing how when you begin to cut the carbs, and take out the sugar, processed foods, how much clearer your mind begins to feel, and this helps you understand your motivation and find the inner strength that you have and how this helps you to combat the "WINTER BLUES", that creep up on everyone at this time of the year!

So many illness, are related to the mind and the mind is the most intricate part of the human body, and this mind controls so many moving parts! That if the mind is not healthy, do you really believe the whole body is going to be "healthy"?  These is just some food for thought for each of you to ponder over~ I know I have been and I still do every day! LOL!

What is your best food regimen, and what have you found that works for you per se, and do you feel others can benefit from  your program?  Some are firm believers that eating less than 20 "CARBS" per day is the guru of weight loss, and I have seen the magic work! Some believe in eating less than 50 carbs per day. I know, I know you are like "WHAT", how can you possibly eat with only allowing these many carbs! Well it is doable and I know! When I was stronger in the beginning or should I say held accountable with going to the Doctors, every month and paying $50.00 per visit I stood strong! So you are asking what happened! Life happened and my own mind happened and thus falling off the band wagon! So now I must hold my self accountable and get out of my own head, and push forward to winning against the "injustice of weight loss"! I did before and I know I am going to do it again!

What are you going to do to win this battle and stay strong during the MONTH OF DECEMBER? Remember you are stronger than you believe and think! Just believe in yourself!

God Speed!

Daily Challenges

Well it is Sunday the third day after Thanksgiving, and we all know how hard it was to have self control with all the "GOODIES" just sitting around the table! For those that showed 'Self-Control' congratulations to you and for your inner strength and fortitude!  As for me and my family, we lacked self control and discipline and this is not a good feeling to have.  I am watching so many take control over situations and handling them like "PRO's" and I just sit in self pity and I am like what is wrong with me! Where is my self control and discipline I had a few months back and the desire to feel good, and look good? HUM, I am not sure. 🙀

Daily Struggles~!

Well today is Sunday and most of you are enjoying the day out and about with loved ones, and I so know at that many of you are eating out in the restaurant today, and saying to yourself! Self it is ok to eat this "Carb" food today since tomorrow is Monday and I can begin over. The question you must ask yourself, do you do this every weekend or better yet! Do you do this everyday? So if you find yourself answering yes...do you feel that something needs to change? One with the thought process of how to overcome our own "NEGATIVITY" of tomorrow is another day? The struggle is real and you as a person feels the struggle and you keep asking yourself how can I overcome this "Thought" of food and needing food for comfort! WELL YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE! that can honestly answer that question and find the inner strength to overcome your insecurities!

I am so proud of my Daughter is winning the battle with her daily work outs and her ability to find the strength to win over the injustice of weight loss, and she is WINNING as the WINNER she is! She is also helping others to find the inner strength to persevere as well! It only takes one person to help you find the inner voice to say YES I can! I know you your reading and listening and yet you still saying "WELL TOMORROW IS ANOTHER DAY! NO! YOU MUST JUMP OF THE ROLLER COASTER RIDE TODAY! We can do this together and I have faith we will all find the inner voice to say "NO" To that cookie, french fry, and other great tasting food we so love!

SO MAKE THIS THE DAY TO BEGIN A NEW! Remember you are not alone there are many out there struggling the same as you, and they are looking for that partner to help them overcome the inner voice of NEGATIVITY. Let us be the inner voice together!

Thinking CarbSmart

Today I am sitting here pondering on why everyone is jumping on different bandwagon for weight loss, yet at the same time; food companies are no longer making or selling certain low carb favorites! HOW can that be when AMERICA is facing so much obesity in this world!  HOW do we keep the food makers on the same page and with helping to lower AMERICA's obesity! For example, I found this awesome tasting yogurt at a local store while living in Raleigh NC, and low an behold when I went back to purchase more; of course the "Shelf was empty", come to find out the local store was not going to replenish this item! I asked and the response was "not enough" sales to generate the grocery store to keep this item on hand! WELL first and foremost, did you advertise you had this brand and was it in a good location for all CARBSMART people to find? The answer is "NO".

How do we band together as group of carbsmart eaters to ensure ALL groceries store keep our food on stock? Is it fair to us that others want to continue to eat unhealthy food and make our lives miserable so we cannot enjoy the carb smart food we have found and love! Sometime we must take matters into our own hands and find ways to create fun and exciting food to eat. BUT sometimes it is easier when the food is prepackaged and ready for us to consume!

I just love SKINNY GIRL protein drinks, they are only 5 carbs per serving and have a great taste! I was so excited to find this product at local Walmart, but low and behold they are having a hard keeping this item in stock as soon as it comes in it flies off the shelf!  I remember when the founder of skinny girl was on the TV show Housewives of NY and then she did her spin off Bethany!.  Anyways I digress, show I sit here on ponder what does it take to create a low carb food for those of us following a carbsmart diet!? How can we find an investor to help us develop our own brand, and stock our own store and then we would not need to worry about not having our products...and still reap the reward of losing weight!  Life is finding balance and when your balance is upset it makes more challenging to stay true to the path you have chosen!

Change up

This story today is about the challenges that I have been facing! I worked full time with a company and everytime I met someone and they asked me "do you like what you are doing" I would answer "no", I really miss my old job as that held my passion and love! I would pray every night for a job to come my way that was similar to my love and passion! SO I truly believe GOD was listening to me. WHY you ask! HE was placing obstacles and challenges in my way to trust my love an faith in him.  I did not allow my faith to waiver! I looked around and GOD lead me down the path he wanted to follow! I know you are asking was this path hard? YEs, it was very hard but it has helped me to see the way of finding peace and comfort in the choices I have made and I am still making!

I try not bring my troubles out in the open, however; there are times when I might vent to one or a few people of the challenges I am facing! THIS is HUMAN NATURE! True friends will listen and offer words of encouragement! "GOD" has placed some wonderful friends in my life and they have been there for me in thick and thin times.  When the time was right I left my full time job and made huge leap of faith to move forward with another job: this was taking a cut in pay and moving my family back to Wilmington! I kept my faith the entire time and I saw what is happening and how "GOD" has directed me back to the "Passion and Love" and at the same time giving the "NEW CHALLENGE" I had been asking for!  He has been able to keep providing for us and we have been able to maintain with our financial wins!

I had an epiphany last night with the wonderful things that are beginning to happen in my life! For me it not about being "rich with $" BUT being with rich with love, graciousness, family, and the ability to enjoy my life! Finding strength and courage to move on and enjoy the simple things in life are what are my driving force now!

My goal in life and this post is to hopefully help someone who is facing a challenge in his/her life and feel like there is no hope! WELL, I AM HERE TO TELL YOU YES, THERE IS! I am living proof of believing in what GOD is placing in our paths for us to come out on the other side as WINNER!

YOU must firsts believe and learn to trust and once you have gained this momentum life will begin to offer you the freedom to move forward!
God Speed!

Dedication!

Good Morning Friends and Family!

I do hope you all are having a wonderful weekend! Each day brings new challenges and life changing decisions and sometimes these decision affect our outlook on the food choices we make. For instance you are in the process of changing jobs or a big change is coming down the pike for your life!  The question is how do you handle these changes? For instance do you change up the way you eat to compensate for the changes in your life?

For example: your job is changing and this can be stressful, so you do include a day of overeating your favorite comfort foods? Or do you stay true to the path of healthy food choices? Life throws us many curve balls and we must be strong in our convictions to overcome the challenges we are facing. You must ask yourself who is being affected by the food choices we make due to our life challenges?  Definitely not the person who has thrown us the curveball correct it is only affecting us?  SO then you are saying "WHAT" how can that be, they said this and they said that so I need to feed my soul! WRONG! In order to win over that negativity you MUST stay strong and true to yourself with continuing down the path of following the excellent food choices you have been making prior to the curveball!

I have learned over the past few months how life can be very challenging with multiple changes coming down the pike! One thing I have learned I must be strong and I am the only one who controls what is going into my mouth and how these choices affect my comfort zone! I have complete faith that I am stronger than the circumstances thrown at me during these last few months and I will prevail and WIN over the injustice of WEIGHT LOSS! I am stronger than I have been giving myself credit for!

Life is about the choices we make and how these choices affect our "SOUL" and the outcome of the goal we have set forth! If you keep allowing the "NEGATIVITY" to impact you then you will not have the strength to WIN and BEAT the injustice of WEIGHT LOSS!

Dig deep into your soul and look for the strength that I KNOW is there in each and everyone of you reading this post today!

Let me know if I can be of assistance to you and help you find the right path to WINNING! I am on the path of WINNING and I am right there beside you!

God Speed!

Choices!

We must be our own cheerleader too take the plunge over the injustice of Weight LOSS! On top of this many are facing a very sad day. With  that being said so many things are swirling around in my head today. Many are facing challenges with the activities to which you might be participating in. It can be challenging to stay true to oneself and finding inner strength to be strong on the food choices one must make daily. What are some of the food choices you made today? Did you stick to your low carb, or low diet food choices, or did you decide to splurge today because of the sadness in the air?

Some might feel it is okay to have a day to feel like you are allowed to eat what you want, however; on the flip side of that coin you are then allowing yourself to deviate from the plan you have set forth to reach your goal!  SO the question becomes are you going to give in the food choices of comfort or the food choices of healthy?  I have not been eating clean for the last few months and I have fallen into a deep long self destruction statement; I will do better tomorrow! SO when tomorrow comes,  I am still falling deeper and deeper into the "FOOD TRAP"! Oh my goodness, I have fallen and can't get up and out of the food hole!

I am going to strive for greatness tomorrow! I have come so far and must not allow myself to fall so far backwards, so NOW is the time to set the ball moving forward, onward and upward!

Be strong and find the inner strength and you will win as well!

Sunday Thought!

Hello to Friends and Family!

It has been awhile since I have written to you all and today got me to thinking about Sunday! SO here is my thought for the day......Well today either ends or begins a new week, depending on you view Sunday.

For me Sunday is the beginning of new week and hopefully the beginning of a new daily start.  How many reflect on the whata! coulda! shoulda! mantra.....YEP you know exactly what I am talking about. IF I would have done this followed that, I could have met my goal, and I shouldn't have eaten those or drank that.  Just remember those mantra's are detrimental to your positive thought process. YES, that is correct. they are a negative connotations and will destroy the progress you have made thus far.

Well many of you know that the last few months have been very challenging for me to say the least, and for some unknown reason, I decided to follow old habits. IT seems old habits are easier to follow than sticking to your life changing habits that you have developed over the last few years.  Then we allow us ourselves to follow our negative mantra noted above! AND then we must ask ourselves where did this get us? Did we achieve anything good from this? OR did we shoot ourselves for allowing our old habits to slip back into our lifestyle change?  IF you answered yes; you are not alone as many fall into this trap! Just remember to FORGIVE yourself and take a step backwards, and begin anew! IT WILL BE OK!

I am not sure where my weight loss lies right now and that for me is not a major priority, as getting back on the food train of "LOW CARBS" HIGH FAT", so that I can begin the weight loss progress. See your clothes and your mental alertness will help  you to see the changes are occurring. TOO many place stock on the "SCALE" in stead of placing "STOCK" on the clothes, inches and mental alertness!

I have begun my walking routine again, and this weekend I was able to log my four miles; 2 miles both days. Now I will begin this journey once again with walking in the afternoon depending on the heat index, or getting up earlier enough to walk on the treadmill! The point is you are the driver of your course and if you want to stay on track you must take control of the wheel!

Life is always going to throw us curve balls, take us down a wrong turn in the road, but we must remember that we do not need to keep following that path! TAKE CONTROL and YOU will begin to change the course of your PATH!

Making a life changing decision is never easy just remember that you are never alone, when you choose to make this change!

Today is Sunday Funday! Enjoy the day the sunshine and life in general!
God Speed!

Sunday~!

Well today is Sunday and that means the week is over or just beginning, totally depends on the person's perspective. So for me this is the beginning of the week, and so I have survived another week, with two days of traveling and I must commend myself for being strict! I was able to survive the road trip and stay away from the "junk" food so to speak! I eat salads and steered away from the fired greasy foods! "GO ME"! So how did you survive the week? Were you able to steer away from the food demons following you around? I know it very hard to make good food choices when we have SOOOOOOOOOO many wonderful food items we can choose from.

If you are following the Low Carb/High fat process were able to keep you carbs under 100, 75,50, or the best number 20 per day?  How many fully understand the Low carb/high fat program, and how this helps you trick your body into burning the stored fat? This process puts your body into "KETO" burning mode and will begin to target the fat cells thus causing the immediate weigh loss and once you begin this process and continue to follow the low carb process your body will continue to stay in "KETO" mode and continue to burn the stored fat. You may seem hungry at first that is your body's way of saying "yea" something is different and if you eat some "protein" or "fiber" check the carb count....this will help you to feel full or fuller longer!

When reading the labels remember to check the total number of carbs and the total number of sugar content. The sugar is the item that will slow down or stop your "KETO" mode from burning your stored fat". This I learned from the "DR"!  There are many food choices you can eat and still maintain your carb count for the day. When you feel like munching-----choice celery stalks and apply a little cream cheese/peanut butter in moderation...this process makes you feel like you are eating "chips", and you are still maintaining good eating habits.

For the sugar tooth make "sugar free" jello lots of it and purchase some "Cool Whip" and not the light cool but the real deal! And add this to your jello and go to town! There are many recipes for cakes, juices and other sweet tooth foods that will satisfy your craving! The important thing to remember is not to fall back into the path of "junk" food for one day or two days, as this will pull your body out of "KETO" Mode and then you must begin over.

I wish you well on your journey of food choices and or diet choices you decide to follow! Each person's body is different and what may work for you might not work for all! Just remember WE all must be true to the path we choose to follow and must stick to our regimen of eating properly.

Dr. Atkins program does allow for fruit in moderation! My Dr. does not allow fruit as it is high in sugar and is "Natures' Candy! Just keep that in mind in when eating an apple/orange or such! Count that has your carb for the day!

Good luck to you all!'

Saturday~

Hello Family and Friends!

Well today is Saturday, I know all day long!, and what a day it has been thus far!.  So many things going on and so many things changing within my life circle and trying to balance all is just a mild understatement.  First and foremost I am very excited to be moving back to Wilmington and hopefully reconnect with some friends, and be able to enjoy life away from home!

How is everyone doing with his/her life balance and are you finding struggles to be strong and if you are not able to be strong are you able to move past the struggle and jump back on board with the goal you have set for yourself? Remember each day is a new beginning and chapter for you to write and make any necessary changes!

For me I was in Wilmington this past week and noticed myself in the "MIRROR" and let me just say I was not happy with the reflection looking back at ME! SO when I returned home to Raleigh, I recommitted myself to getting back on track with reaching my goal! OH YEAH!!! I know you are saying yes, we have heard that before. WELL TH IS TIME is has to be spot on. First I purchased new clothes and I absolutely refuse to buy another new wardrobe that must be larger in size! That is just pure craziness for all the hard work I have done thus far!

A good motivator for me was my "MOM" had a pair of pants on her bed that were way to big for her, so I tried them and low and behold they fit me! OH YEAH! So now I am back to eating 20 carbs per day and walking my 2 miles, and doing some swimming until we move. Our new place will have a pool however; they are in the middle of construction so I am not sure when the "new pool" will be open for swimming this summer. Exercising can come in any form as long as you are using your muscles and burning and energy!

I certainly hope you all find peace with the choices you have made and are going to make! Just remember take one step at time and if you have too, one hour at a time. This helps to decrease your anxiety about beginning this new life journey! One-day at at time is motto you should include your daily mantra!  Remember I am here to listen and offer you guidance from personal experience!

Weekly Review~!

Good evening friends and family!

Well this week has a been a whirlwind! There are so many things to write about and not sure where to begin and with what to begin with! LOL! Well everyone knows our first thing to think about is our food choices and how these choices affect day to day processes! I know what you are thinking---what is talking about how does our food choices affect our daily processes? Well; when you stop and think about it. When you wake up in the morning and you are "Grumpy" 'what is first thing most want to do?', most will want to have a quick cup of coffee and definitely NO conversation! Secondly, this mood then defines the food choices you want to make.....I know you  know that I am RIGHT! "chuckling silently", so from that point on you have decided to eat anything and everything in site.

Well, we must learn to break this bad habit, when we wake up in a bad mood! What are some things you might do to help you quickly overcome this bad mood, so that it does not destroy your whole day.  WE all have days where we do not want to be bothered and we most certainly do not want to be nice to others! YEP, YEP, YEP! I so understand what you are totally saying right now! LOL!

Well this week has been very hectic, with road travel, as this affects  your ability to eat what you normally do when you are home? SO how do you overcome the road travel food choices. That can be sometimes a challenge since "restaurant are very easy to drive into and order the biggest fattest cheeseburger, french fries and such!", SO I know you are asking; how do we not order this type of food and eat more healthy. Most restaurants do sell salads, and fresh fruit if you have not given up fruit as part of your low-carb diet.  Breaking the change of choice is the hardest part most are facing when having a bad day.

My Dr. told me in order to succeed you have to make the change and stick to the change and this takes time and will then become habit forming. SO when you have a bad in place of that "Cheeseburger-fry" combo, you will then begin to choose the "salad-fruit" combo and once you do this you will thus begin to see changes in how you feel mentally and physically! IT really does work.

I know you are asking how did I survive the road trip! Well to be perfectly honest not well, I eat things that were not allowed on my food program and I can tell you that I felt different for the past few days, My thought process is much slower when I eat carbs, and my desire to work out slows down as well!

What are some of things you do to help overcome making bad choices on daily or weekly basis?

Remember I am here to listen and help to the best of my ability in helping you to begin in taking the first step and together we both will succeed!

New Day & New Chapter~!

Hello to all my fellow readers!

Remember each day is new beginning and new chapter to be written by you! "YES" you are the author of your daily chapter, you get to decide what you are going to write about on a daily basis! I do you hope you make a good chapter!

My chapter is about change and how change can affect the major decisions in your life. These decisions affect how you process your day and this process also affects the food choices we make! SO if you are ready to begin this new chapter with me "JUMP ON BOARD" the wagon train! LOL How many watched that show as child? I know right! Life was so easy back then or so we thought!

SO in our chapter for today, it has been a struggle with the food choices, and I have to say I did not win over the injustice of weight loss today!  BUT you know that is OK; as I said earlier each day is  new beginning and new chapter, REMEMBER to let go and move on! I truly believe that what hinders those during the battle of weight loss, is the fear of the unknown and what lies on the other side of the mountain, lake, stream or train! YEP, you each have a fear and this fear is holding you back! Once you break the sound barrier you will be amazed at how far you can go and what you can accomplish on the battle field!

YES, losing weight is battle field and the struggle with this war is real! I have learned during my journey I am my own worst enemy and how many feel the same way or better yet have not come to this realization? THAT is okay if you are not there yet, the day will come and you will be like "OMG" the light bulb is now the brightest star on the tree!  YEP, YEP, YEP!

The night is young for some and just the beginning for your new chapter! and the night is ending for those who have finished his/her chapter and putting the ending to bed! SO, I bid you fond farewell, and good night sleep, and I trust your new chapter tomorrow will bring you closer to winning the war the against the injustice of weight loss and/or the demons you are fighting!

Eating Habits

Welcome to those that have stopped by to read!

Today our focus is on eating habits. What you say "eating habits"! Yes, our eating habits are first taught to us by our "parents" and most times our Mom! SO we then begin to process what kind of eating habits we are going to begin making---right! How many play the blame game on his/her family for the food choices you make? How children and adults do we see that are abundantly overweight! "And secondly do we judge them?", for the poor choices "WE" feel they are making?

The questions we must ask ourselves first of all "WHO" are we sit in judgement of "OTHERS" and the choices they may make, albeit---food, drinks, life choices, social engagements and work? If we are too busy judging others, how then are we able to take care of ourselves and the choices we must make for our lives? HOW, many depend on us for being the sole being of his/her universe? SO, if we sit in judgement of others, are we be truly faithful to ourselves and the choices we are making!

I WOULD have to say "NOT"!  I know that I have not made some of the best food choices over the past few months, and this has lead me to be delinquent with my writing responsibility to my readers an fans who follow what I write about and they may take to heart the thoughts and words that are solely my own! IS that fair to them "NO", and it is not fair to myself either!

WE all the know the saying' that with age comes "WISDOM", and with "WISDOM" comes the possibility of making better decisions for our lives and loved ones----I know you are thinking she is going to say "YES"!, well you are wrong!, for some we may make--- worse decisions as we age, and for some we may make better decisions....albeit "WHO" are we judge if that is a good decision or a bad decision? WE---should only be focusing on ourselves and the decisions we need to make to survive and learn from!!

SO after grow up and move out and/or away from our childhood home, we become responsible for the choices we make with our eating and life choices at the same time! THE question for you today is "DO YOU FEEL GOOD WITH THE CHOICES YOU HAVE MADE?  This can be about your life choices, your food choices, your school choices and just life in general? Remember their is no right or wrong answer to the question! Only self satisfaction with the choices you made!

I am satisfied with the last choice I made and the decision to take back control of my life and work towards the goal I HAVE set for myself! If I fail I can only blame myself and the not surroundings and or situations that follow!

Strength and Desire!

Hello to all!

It has been a while and many things are happening in my life. For those of you who know me totally understand the struggles I am facing daily...! Enough said!

What I find truly amazing is how people are going to try and sabotage what you have worked hard to achieve! Life and work go hand-in-hand so remember that your Strength is the salvation to overcome the ones who are trying to sabotage what you have achieved, and the goals you have set for yourself!  Remember to believe in yourself and to face them head-on, this is how you are going to overcome the naysayers! YOU NAYSAYERS know who you are; remember this---I am onto you, and I am going to win at all cost! YOU will not defeat me and bring down to your YOUR LEVEL, which is the lowest of lowest!

For the one's fighting this battle remember:  YOU and I are stronger than they are and We will win this fight together! I truly believe in this! I am done being afraid and I am going to rely my strengths and ignore the "NEGATIVE" comments you are throwing at me. Just know I will keep on fighting!!! One more item for you to put into your pipe: know you are not going to keep bringing me down I wash my hands of your negative comments! Keep them coming as they are making me stronger and I will WIN----and of course you the "NAYSAYER" will be the BIGGEST LOSER in the end!

WE must never forget how strong we are, and remove ourselves from the  negatives comments thrown at us from those who are trying to tear us down;  remember that YOU are in CONTROL of YOUR own emotions, and you will find the strength  and desire to overcome the "NAYSAYERS"!! Do not I repeat DO NOT; let them  have control take back your power and when you do you will prevail and win! I am here for you to help fight this fight and win!

Life is about finding your inner peace and moving on and finding the power to run over the  "Naysayers" and in the end you will be the winner in life and the choices you make to become the ULTIMATE person you are RIGHT now!

This comes from my own personal journey! I have been in this situation before and was able to walk away from, and for whatever the reason "GOD" is putting back in the face of adversity to make me STRONGER, and I am not going to let him down or myself again!

Self Awareness!

Good Morning Friend & Family!

I am not sure how many really read my blog and that is OK!

I write to help myself to overcome many obstacles I face on a daily, weekly and or monthly basis! Losing Weight is about knowing what you can or cannot eat and finding the right balance for you. Some will have a straight path and stay true to this path whiles might tend to veer off the path every now and then.  WE must not judge those that are struggling to stay on the path! WE do not know what he/she is struggling with and these struggles are the triggers for taking a road turn.

Struggles come in the form of self doubt, and this self doubt comes from people consistently telling us/you are not a good person/same person , all the while they do not realize that what they are saying to you comes in the form of "NEGATIVITY", and these negative comments that, you  keep hearing could be/are the triggers that is forcing you to self destruct! Other triggers could be commercials on television; cake wars, cupcake wars, food commercials eat this eat that! SO like I said "Triggers" are the key to finding our inner strength to overcome our inner self doubt!

I truly believe self destruction comes in the form of eating food!!  Food YOU know  that, is not good for you and what we all like to call "Comfort Food", and if you say you do not have any then I would have say you are telling a "BIG FAT FIB"! We all have some form of comfort food and this includes "men" as well as "women".

The question we must answer is what is our self trigger to say we need to eat our comfort food to help us feel better about ourselves?  I believe once we define this trigger and then work on changing our style of "comfort food" habit to something less destructive then and only then will we be able to overcome the self destruction!

I know you all are asking where is this coming from and what is my trigger! WELL like I  said in the beginning; I face challenges daily, weekly, monthly and receiving negativity from others. Do they truly know the comments are negative to me, this I am not sure however; non the less they are hurtful!   But I digress this about finding a way to help you to reach and overcome the daily struggles you are facing!  Finding a good support system helps you to find  your inner peace/strength to overcome any negativity that is being pushed at you!

Remember; I am here to help you and much as you are helping me by reading my blog!

Life

Good Evening friends and family!

It has been awhile since I have written to you all.  Life has daily changes and sometimes we just need to stop and reflect on our decisions we have made over the course of our life. Yes and sometimes we wonder why we took the path we did and why we did not take a different path, and then asking ourselves when I went down this path did this cause me to also make bad food choices? I would have to "say no"! Food choices come from our inner genetic make-up and this we truly have no control over.

Our DNA is what designs our inner and outer beauty, being skinny/overweight.  I personally am glad I am the person I am and I have learned many lessons over the course of my life and some of them I am still learning today. The day we quit learning is the day we give up the desire to live a fulling life. I know you are asking what does this have to do with weight loss! Well if you stop and think about it  really does affect us a lot!  How we view our lives helps us to define our food choices, and when we are out  it is easier to give into our favorite food choices, as use this thought process; this is going to help soothe our inner struggles.  The question then becomes does it really soothe our inner beast/ or does it define our weakness?

There have been many studies to show that overeating is now a disease and being obese is becoming an epidemic across the world. Many different factors play in the role and sometimes it is easier to eat "McDonald's, Wendy's Burger King" you get the idea then it is to go home and make a well balanced food plate.  I did find an I actually read the article on how to find foods that fall into a low carb setting and are good for at the same time. The most important thing to remember is that when you give up the processed sugar, remove the unwanted carbs; wheat bread and others, you will be amazed how your brain function changes and the cobwebs will be removed from your thought!

How can we use our inner strength to win over the injustice of weight loss and once we find the right pattern, how to continue to move forward, and to not keeping steps backward? What are some of the ways you move forward and when you take a step back, how do you discipline yourself?

Tortoise vs. Hare

Good Morning Friends and Family!

How many remember the story of the Tortoise and the Hare? I know you are asking what is she talking about? Well the hare went exceptionally fast and thought he would win the race  and he kept doing the race with that kind of thinking, and then the tortoise began the race and he continued on the slow and steady path and eventually became the winner of the race. The same holds true when you begin your weight loss journey.

For instance you start out fast with losing weight and then you begin to change your thought process by thinking I can begin to include back the food, or carbs, that I took out in the beginning and continue to move fast like the hare correct? WRONG, you will still need to continue on the slow pace similar to the tortoise!  Taking the slow and steady mantra will help you to find the right pace of losing weight even if you lose only 1-2 pounds per week as this will help you to lose more in the end.  Now you asking taking the tortoise path does this include eating food, that brought me to this plateau to begin with? ONLY you can answer that question. For instance you know you have done well with losing weight and then you take a day to include the food you have removed from your diet. The question then becomes how will you feel or is this the best choice for ME?  Only you can answer this question and decide to either be the TORTOISE or the HARE!

I am going to follow the slow steady pace for me and find the strength within myself to continue the race and find the way to win over the injustice of weight loss! Not everyone is going to be fast like the hare and some are going to slow like the tortoise. JUST remember that slow and steady wins the race!

Wintery Weather~ Equals Comfort Food~

Good Afternoon Family and Friends!

Many of you are facing the wintery weather, and I am hoping you all are safe and warm.  Today is Saturday and the majority of the day has come and is now heading towards the late night evening. So with that being said, I do hope you all were able to make some great food choices for the wintery weather.  Time is counting down for my next weigh-in and I was going down a great food choice until I hit a brick wall. What you say a "brick wall" that means facing the stress of things that we must face. How many of face a brick wall on a  daily basis and then  do you allow this brick wall to drive the choices of the way you eat for the day?  That is some food for thought! Such a great pun! :)

With that being said, I am going to be strong and hopefully I am able to keep my stressors at bay and  thus allow myself to make the best choices for me for the remainder of the month and the following weeks prior to my weigh-in.  I am going to find a way to remove myself from being a negative nelly to a positive reinforcement to myself. SO let me ask you what do you do to keep positive when you are facing negativity, and do you feel these helps you to win?

Yes, life is about winning and becoming a winner and working towards the goal at hand! What are some of ways this counter balances the negative and how do you use this to find the strength to help you over all hurdles you may be facing? I look forward to hearing your best way to beat and jump the hurdles of negativity. GO WIN FIGHT!

We all face challenges daily and we all must find inner strength to beat these as they come to us. Just know I am here for those who would like to let me know what you face and what you would like to do and or find a way to overcome!

Reach and Overcome: Self Assessment~

Reach and Overcome: Self Assessment~: Good Afternoon Friends & Family~ Well today is Sunday, and how many of you have completed your internal self assessment?  I know man...

Self Assessment~

Good Afternoon Friends & Family~

Well today is Sunday, and how many of you have completed your internal self assessment?  I know many of you are asking what is she talking about...is she having a crazy day? LOL! No, I am not having a crazy day, I am just trying to be realistic here!  Losing weight is the hardest thing for many to stay true to as the world offers, this and that, and it can be confusing to those who are constantly battling the bulge.

What I mean my self assessment is do you analyze what is your short term goal vs. your long term achievement goal?  For me I have been doing this low carb program now for over one year, and during this year time frame I lost around 45 pounds, and many of you are saying "Great job, Keep up the good work"....but for me my self assessment was you should have stayed true during the hardest days, the holidays, and when company stops by!  Yes....yes...yes...it can be hard, albeit we only have ourselves to blame for the slowness of losing weight! Yep yep yep!  I so do love those donuts, apples, oranges, grapes,  french fries, and chips, oh well you get it!

However; for me my body does not process them like others might process them. My body has decided to store them as "Fat" products that my body may decide to burn later or just keep storing in the most obvious place (My Belly)!!! How many are facing the battle of the bulge located in the mid-section...it is OK to say "YES" that is me!. Once we have made the conscientious choice to accept our flaws as they are then and only then will we begin to slowly make changes necessary to win over the injustice of weight loss!

AS for me I do find the weekend more challenging than during the week. SO I have to decided today what is more important eating the foods, I love or winning at this game of chance? Being on a diet or low calorie, low carb whatever you feel like calling it, is a game of chance. Kinda like the lottery right, you play to win and sometimes you win and sometimes you don't. With losing weight you constantly have to be on. People say "Oh have a  cheat day" the question then becomes can you only have one cheat day or does it continue to be 2-3 days of cheating?  ONLY you can honestly answer that question and be totally honest with yourself. If you are dishonest then you only have yourself to blame for not losing any weight...how many are shaking their heads....yes! If you are shaking your head yes, then you are on the right path of changing your eating habits!

I will eventually post my beginning weight but the question is will that offer motivation OR  will words of wisdom be your driving force!? Just remember we are all in this boat together! The choice is yours to make and only you!

Weekend~

Good Evening!

Well how many of you stayed true to what you had planned on your weekend food plan?  It is more challenging when the weekend comes and staying true yourself and your food choices. Just remember to not beat yourself up, as the weekend is a challenge for almost everyone on a food plan.   I know eating properly everyday is hard, and then the weekend comes, and there are football games, soccer games, basketball games all which include eating "pizza, pretzels, chips, burger fries and of course do not forget popcorn, and ice cream, and the ultimate hoagies"! How in the world are you so suppose to follow the low carb, the low calorie when all this goodness is around you?  WELL you face the weekend demon head-on and make a decision on what you plan to indulge in.

I face this challenge every weekend when I know I am going to be out and about with family or friends, and I have to make the choice to eat healthy and find restaurants that fall into the program I am following and of course that means avoiding the fast food and  burger joints unless they are able to make salads, and then pass on the fries! IT IS SO HARD I KNOW~~~!!!!

One thing I notice when I eat off my food program how I feel for that day and or the entire weekend, and then I realize that I must stay true to myself and make a decision; is eating this off the food program the best for me,and  do I want to keep feeling this way?  So the question to you is how do you feel when you eat off target, and is eating off target worth the ultimate goal you a working towards?  Then how hard is for you to get back on track?  DO you keep off track or do you jump back on track? These are things we face everyday and every weekend.  Just remember you are not alone and know I am here for you. The main thing to remember is not beat yourself up as this will not change the past...just remember to move forward!

New Year New Life!

Good Morning Friends and Family!

Well today is January 2nd 2016, and the main question for you all is "how many of you made a new  year's resolution?"  My second question to you all; is this resolution one you can keep and will this impact your life in a major way?  Here are some thoughtful questions you need to ask yourself before you begin this new journey.   IF someone/something throws you  a curveball.  Will  YOU take that as an opportunity to derail YOU from your goal, Or do you take that as an opportunity to prove to yourself  you are strong and forge past the curveball and move forward?  I know you all are saying "WHAT IS SHE TALKING ABOUT" I know you all too well, only because that is me too!

Lets just say my last weigh in did not go as plan, but I did not allow that to derail me on my goal!

For me I have been doing this lifestyle change for the past year oh yeah ONE year~ and let me tell it has been a long hard year, but I survived and even lost weight which was the main goal. The road was hard and had many hurdles for me to overcome in eating and enjoying what is important to me. For instance, for the past year, I did not eat "fruit, potatoes, and high carb foods" did I expire, well the answer is obviously no" I came out much better. How you ask? Well I no longer have "carb brain", I lost weight, and I am getting all my vitamins from the vegetables I have been eating. Leafy greens, green beans, lettuce, and a whole lot of "PROTEIN" which has increased my stamina!  Do I have cheat days I would be telling a Fib if I said no! LOL. Do I allow multiple cheat days the answer is "no" why you ask; because this defeats the purpose of losing weight.  Once you give up the treats you will be surprised how much you "no longer crave them" Oh YES I am telling you the truth!

I have learned to eat low carb treats: examples are cakes, cookies, and even chocolate candie!  However; the choice is yours to make, no-one can force you to make the change or take the challenge, your inner-soul must make the decision to begin, and then stay focused on the goal at hand.  Weight loss is one of the toughest challenges anyone person is going to partake in life.   I know in my heart of hearts you will win over the injustice of weight loss and find the inner strength and peace you need to keep forging forward to WIN! JUST REMEMBER YOU ARE ALREADY A WINNER IN MY BOOK!

Please know I am here to listen and tell you about my journey and hopefully this will inspire you to join my trek this year! I am on a goal to lose 94 pounds this coming year. My goal for this month is 8 pounds, and that is not much, with 2 pounds per week! Who is going on this challenge with me?

Remember to take baby steps, and pass on the second helpings, then move on past the cake and ice cream, then eventually you will be able to skip the potatoes, and breads, and before you know it you have changed your eating habit and the first pounds will begin to melt off! OH YEAH that is what I am talking about! YOU GO~!!!

I have given myself a challenge and that is to not drink "DIET COKE" those who know me so well know that I love my "DIET COKE" and just so you all know I have not had one for almost 2 weeks, so I started the new year off right! LOL!!!  Seriously since I have not had one it is amazing how different I feel. My sodium level is down and my body does feel better without all the syrup flavor! I am going to try really hard to meet my goal this year.....and to stay true to what my food plan is!

Love to you all who read and enjoy my blog!  I would love to hear about your new years resolution and what is going to keep you motivated!

God Speed!
